the premise

Britain's food system has stopped feeding us properly.

Most of the food most of us eat travels through a supply chain designed for shelf life, not nourishment. The land it comes from is worked for yield, not health. The people who grow it earn thin margins or disappear entirely. And the eaters β€” us β€” are left with a weekly shop that technically qualifies as food, and a quiet feeling that something along the way has been lost.

We think you're right to feel it.

For most people, there isn't a way back. You can't buy a farm. You can't quit your life and learn to grow. Even buying better food doesn't solve it, because the problem isn't really about food β€” it's about the distance that's opened up between people, the land that feeds them, and the community of others doing the same.

We started My Little Farm to close the distance between farmer, food, and household. The way we do it is simple: the people who eat from the farm are the people who hold it.

The way we go about this matters as much as what we build.

You can do this kind of work from fear or from joy. From collapse-thinking or from care. From extractive urgency or from patient, committed presence. The results look completely different β€” and so does the path of getting there. We've chosen the second in every case.

We don't approach this work from collapse or panic. We choose joy, responsibility, and patience. The world already has enough doomcasting β€” we'd rather build something good and let that speak.

Generations, not quarters

We think in decades because the land does. Regenerating soil takes years. Building a community takes longer. A farm that's here in fifty years is worth more than ten that aren't.

Relationships, not shortcuts

We know most members by name. We prefer to speak before we sell, and to know who's at our table. A farm run on relationships behaves differently from one run on transactions β€” and that difference is the whole point.

We're not a finished solution. We're a farm still being built, a community still forming, a system still proving itself. We say so on the website. Members are welcome to see the work in progress β€” not just the finished photographs.

The model works because the people who eat from the farm are the same people whose names are on it. The incentives run in one direction only: toward care.
