A national tapestry of regenerated land, woodlands, market gardens, pastures and orchards, held in common across the country. It begins with one farm in Sussex, and grows by the household.
the premise
Our food system has stopped feeding us properly.
Most of what we eat is grown for shelf life, not nourishment, on land worked for yield, not health, by people paid too little to keep going. We're left with a weekly shop that technically counts as food, and a quiet, nagging sense that something along the way has been lost.
Farmland has become an asset class, owned by fewer and fewer and priced far beyond the families who would work it. For most of us there's no way back in: you can't buy a farm, or step out of your life to learn to grow. Yet the deeper problem was never really food. It's the distance that has grown between people, the land that feeds them, and each other.
So we set out to close that distance.
the simple idea
The people who eat from the farm should be the people who hold it.
So this is what we've set out to create. We buy farmland and hold it in common, in a trust that can never be sold or built over, owned by the people it feeds. We're at the beginning of it, learning as we go and building it one farm at a time, and when the people who eat from the land are the ones whose names are on it, the incentives run one way only: toward care. We'd love for you to help us build it.

A village doesn't have to be one place on a map. It can be a community spread across the country: families everywhere, each near a little farm they hold and eat from, all part of the same village. It begins with a flagship farm anchoring a region of little farms, and the same model repeats, region by region, into a national network.

Half a million families, each anchored to real food from land they hold in common. Not customers of a food system, but custodians of one.
Villages, not just farms
Each farm grows into more than a field: gardens and gatherings, farm school for the children, workshops in the old crafts, and for some, a place to live and work.
Land in perpetuity
Every farm held in community ownership and kept in an asset-locked trust, so the land can never be sold from under the people again. Kept whole for the generations after us.

The supermarket, turned on its head.
In the food system we know, the worker is paid last and least, and most of what you spend flows away to people who never touch the soil. We're building the opposite. Every pound a member spends runs through the farm in farm tokens, directed so that the largest share reaches the land and the people who work it.

Where a supermarket keeps most of the pound and hands the worker the scraps, we're turning it round: roughly 80p to the farmer who grows the food, 10p to the land itself, held in trust, and 10p to the platform and community that connect the network.
The worker first, not last. The land kept, not spent. That inversion is the whole point.
