Working the beds on a Friday at My Little Farm

Farming Friday Β· Every Week

A working Friday on the land.

  • Every Friday
  • 10am – 4pm
  • Streat, East Sussex

Step into the rhythm of the land and become part of the team β€” not a demonstration, but the real thing, working alongside our farmers on the tasks that need doing that day.

about the day

Not a demonstration β€” the real thing.

Farming Friday is your chance to step into the rhythm of the land and become part of the team. It's not a demonstration β€” it's the real thing. You'll be working alongside our farmers on meaningful tasks that need doing that day.

From planting out the next crop to feeding the animals or prepping the veg for the farm shop, it's a hands-on day designed for anyone who wants a deeper connection with their food and the land it comes from.

Expect mud, muscle, and plenty of moments that remind you what really matters. Get stuck in, get your hands in the soil, and help make real food happen.

the shape of the day

How a Friday unfolds.

  • From 10:00am β€” arrive for welcome drinks and meet the team
  • 10:30 – 12:30 β€” the first work session, out on the land
  • 12:30 β€” a Farmer's Lunch, shared together in the field or barn
  • 1:30 – 3:30 β€” the second work session
  • From 3:30pm β€” fill your basket with fresh produce, with a 20% discount as a thank-you for your help

what you'll do

Whatever the day needs doing.

You'll join the team for the day and get a real glimpse of what it takes to grow nutrient-dense food the right way. There's no standing on the sidelines β€” every pair of hands helps move the farm forward. Tasks vary with the season and may include:

  • Planting, weeding, or harvesting in the veg garden
  • Feeding and moving the animals
  • Preparing vegetables or packing eggs
  • Fixing fences, mulching, or turning compost
