Lammas · The First Harvest
Lammas at My Little Farm.
The beginning of August brings the first harvest, the height of summer's abundance. We gather to celebrate the crops that fill our bellies and see us through winter, and to begin gathering the seeds of next year's sowing.
about the day
The first harvest, marked together.
The beginning of August is a glorious time of abundance. We gather to celebrate the height of summer and our harvest: bringing in this year's crop to fill our bellies and see the community through the winter, and beginning to gather the seeds that will become next year's crops.
It is a time that holds the whole farming year at once, the abundance of the crops and the community around us, and the first look ahead to spring's sowing. A day to give thanks, and to feast.
what to expect
Feast, frolic, and go within.
- Feast. A delicious shared lunch on the Saturday, provided by the farm and our friends.
- Frolic. Music and activities through the day, for all ages.
- Go within. Wellbeing in the forest, a quiet space to rest and restore.
This is the shape of the day so far, with more to be announced. The full running order will be shared closer to the celebration. Bring a blanket to sit on, and a heart ready to give thanks for the harvest.
